Eligibility Criteria and Admission Requirements

Each year we welcome about 70-80 participants in the program

Our students come from all over the world and from very different backgrounds (Life Sciences, Digital, Educational Science, Computer Science, Cognitive Science, Geosciences Engineering, Psychology, Economics, Design, Medicine, Humanities, Biology, etc.). Students can apply with a bachelor's degree or equivalent or may enter directly to the 2nd year of the program under the condition that they successfully graduated from their 1st year of a Master's degree or equivalent, depending on their previous academic qualifications or professional experience.

You can apply to the first or second year of the Master program, depending on your last academic degree or past professional career.

  • Master 1 (M1): Candidates who have completed at least three years of higher education (Licence L3 or a Bachelor's degree of 3 years or equivalent).
  • Master 2 (M2): Candidates who have completed at least four years of higher education (a Bachelor's degree of 4 years, a Bachelor's degree of 3 years + 1st year of a Master's degree, or equivalent). Candidates holding a Master’s (M2) degree or an Engineering degree are eligible to apply for either M1 or M2, depending on their background. APPLICATION PROCESS Applications must be submitted through the AIRE Master Application Portal. The selection process for the AIRE Master program is rigorous and aims to identify students with a strong interest in interdisciplinarity, a demonstrated commitment to innovation and research, as well as a solid academic and professional background. Candidates will be evaluated based on their motivation, academic record, and performance in an interview with our faculty and pedagogical team as part of the jury. The process includes the following steps:

  • Online Application: Complete the online application form and upload the required documents
  • Application Review: The AIRE Master pedagogical and scientific team will review applications with their recommendations based on the application form entries and the documents received and will notify the candidates of their eligibility status.
  • Interview: Pre-selected candidates will be invited for an interview with the faculty and pedagogical team as part of the jury. The interview is an essential part of the selection process to assess your motivation, research interests, and readiness for interdisciplinary learning.
  • Final Selection: The selection jury will rate the applicants according to merit. Those who qualify through this phase will be informed of their selection through duly signed letters of acceptance.

Besides numerous other factors, the candidate’s eligibility and selection is based on:

  • Proven interest in Interdisciplinarity
  • Involvement/Interest in SDGs and Planetary Health
  • Academic background
  • Motivation statement/letter
  • Reference letters (02 minimum)
  • Research/internship interest
  • Future aspirations/plans

English proficiency: Proficiency in English is mandatory as all courses are conducted in English, ideally C1 level is expected.

French proficiency: French is strongly recommended, ideally A1-A2 level, given the compulsory internships throughout the program, it is essential to reach an A2 level in French quickly to increase your opportunities..

Lifelong Education and Apprenticeship

Our program is open to everyone under the theme "Lifelong education for all" . We welcome prospective students, professionals from any field, teachers, executives, vocational trainers, etc.). Students can avail of the opportunity to have apprenticeship (through CFA Afia). Apprenticeship contracts are available in M2 only because of the intensive academic schedule in M1 (semester 1). Once you have been admitted, we advise you to contact us to prepare your apprenticeship project for the Master.

Application Process

Application form and documents needed

There are few steps to follow before becoming a Master AIRE Master student. You must fill in the application form according to the requirements.

The form requires some preparation and specific pieces of information, make sure you have everything that is needed. If you do not have all these documents yet, please note that you can still apply. They will be required as soon as you have them:

  • A recent ID photo;
  • A copy of your identity document (passport, identity card, etc.);
  • A copy of your most recent diploma, translated into English or French by a sworn/official translator(¹);
  • A copy of your most recent diploma grade transcripts, translated into English or French by a sworn/official translator;
  • A copy of your high school grade transcripts (French bac or equivalent), translated into English or French by a sworn/official translator;
  • Your resume (or curriculum vitae) up-to-date;
  • English level certificate: at least B2 or equivalent(²);
  • Contact information for TWO referees willing to provide letters of recommendation (they will receive a form via email from the Master AIRE office);
  • French level certificate (optional): at least A1 or equivalent.

(¹)If your diploma is not available yet, you can ideally upload a letter from your University attesting that: "Mr/Miss X is expected to fulfil the requirements for the diploma by date xx/yy/zz".

After completing the form, a link will be given to you to modify your answers, so be sure to copy it. Please note that only fully filled applications will be reviewed by the jury.

After the application period closes, selected candidates will receive letters of congratulation and an invitation to an interview that will take place online on Google Meet or ZOOM by the second week of May 2025.

If you are selected, you will receive an authorization to register as a student of Université Paris Cité.

  • May 16 to 22: Final Admission results/issuance of LoAs
  • Early September: Start of the courses on campus in Paris
