Forging Interdisciplinary Solutions for Planetary Health

Our Master of AIRE is designed for students who aspire to address global challenges related to sustainability and planetary health through innovative, interdisciplinary approaches.

The Master of AIRE is supported by Université Paris Cité and the Learning Planet Institute (LPI). Since 2006, the Learning Planet Institute has been at the forefront of interdisciplinary education, nurturing leaders capable of addressing humanity's most pressing challenges through innovative collaboration.

A Unique Learning Journey. The Master of AIRE transcends traditional academic boundaries by:

  • Integrating insights from natural sciences, physical sciences, digital sciences, social sciences and humanities.
  • Fostering a deep understanding of complex living and social systems within environmental contexts.
  • Emphasising the interconnectedness of diverse fields and their critical relevance to sustainability and planetary health.

Innovative Curriculum Design. Our programme is built on three core pillars:

  1. Research-Led and Inquiry-Based Learning: Empowering students to become independent thinkers and problem-solvers.
  2. Planetary Engagement: Developing leadership skills for SDGs and navigating uncharted waters.
  3. Social and Scientific Entrepreneurship: Providing strong foundations for designing effective, real-world solutions.

Experiential Learning at Its Core. Students benefit from:

Who Should Apply?

This programme is ideal for passionate individuals from diverse backgrounds—Life Sciences, Physical Sciences & Engineering, Social Sciences & Humanities—who aspire to become change-makers in sustainability and planetary health. This Master of Science, Technology and Health is a two-year program taught entirely in English, and designed for high-level, internationally oriented students.

The Master of AIRE is a national 2-year diploma of Université Paris Cité. The degree is part of the EURIP Graduate School which offers opportunities to continue your postgraduate studies with a 3-year PhD at FIRE Doctoral School for selected applicants.

The AIRE Master is hosted at the Learning Planet Institute

The Learning Planet Institute campus is located in the heart of the Marais district in Paris. Students studying at the Learning Planet Institute profit from a vibrating ecosystem rich in seminars, research groups, global initiatives about research and education, club activities, and 150 square meters of students' lab space.

The Learning Planet Institute, a crossroad of inspiring people and projects, hosts interdisciplinary research groups addressing complex challenges and working together to find sustainable solutions.

The Institute hosts several Citizen Science initiatives and weekly seminars and events, with the scope of promoting quality research and sustainable development in science, education, digital revolution, and planetary health.
